Tail-to-head Method

The tail-to-head method is a graphical technique for adding vectors by arranging them sequentially, making it useful for analyzing quantities with both magnitude and direction. To apply it, place the tail of each successive vector at the head of the preceding vector; the resultant vector extends from the tail of the first vector to the head of the final vector. This construction represents the combined effect of displacement, velocity, force, or other vector quantities. In physics, it supports problems involving motion, equilibrium, and multi-directional interactions, while providing an intuitive check on algebraic vector calculations.
