Attitude Agreement

Attitude agreement is the degree to which two or more people share similar evaluations, beliefs, or preferences about an object, issue, or person. In psychology, it develops when individuals compare their attitudes, interpret social information, and adjust their expressed views through communication, social influence, or conformity. Researchers examine attitude agreement to understand interpersonal attraction, group cohesion, persuasion, and the formation of shared norms. Measuring agreement through questionnaires, rating scales, or behavioral observations can reveal how similarity shapes relationships and collective decisions, while also distinguishing genuine private beliefs from opinions expressed to gain acceptance or avoid conflict.
