Physical Health Outcomes

Physical health outcomes are measurable effects on the body, such as disease risk, symptom severity, physical functioning, and recovery, that reflect a person’s overall health status. In psychology, these outcomes can be shaped by stress-related physiological responses, health behaviors, emotional processes, and interactions between mental and physical conditions. Researchers assess them using measures such as blood pressure, immune or endocrine indicators, medical diagnoses, activity levels, and self-reported symptoms. Studying physical health outcomes helps clarify how psychological experiences affect well-being and supports the development of interventions for prevention, chronic disease management, treatment adherence, and improved quality of life.
