一个收集器歧管，一个端盖，六个平台支架，四个管架基板，和四个管架面板。使用三个平台支架和一块 33 到 30 厘米的波纹塑料，使用热胶组装两个管架平台每个正在建设的通道。通过将 120 欧姆电阻首先焊接到红外发射器和红外探测器的阳极，将长度为 22 米的 22 米电线焊接到阴极，将电子装置安装到收集器歧管中。
小心地将探测器插入收集器歧管的一个插座，将发射器插入第二个插座。两个组件应紧贴。通过布线通道馈送检测器导线，并拉动两根导线穿过检修孔。
使用后排引脚将所有四根导线焊接到 RJ45 以太网插孔。两个阳极应焊接到最左边的引脚，发射器的阴极焊接到最右侧的引脚，以及探测器的阴极焊接到任一中心引脚。用热胶将 RJ45 插孔固定在收集器歧管访问孔上，确保歧管内没有裸露的导线接触。
接下来，通过焊接标注 Arduino 纳米、温度、时钟和 SD 模块的通孔上的母头，开始构建系统的中央处理器。此外，在 LCD 屏幕 PCB 板左上角的未标记的二五通孔上焊接一个母接头。沿 PCB 板的下边缘扣上并焊接六个 RJ45 插孔。
将六个 470 公斤欧姆下拉电阻器焊接到位于 RJ45 千斤顶上方的通孔位置。将 Arduino 纳米、DHT 温度和湿度传感器、时钟和 SD 模块安装到 PCB 板上。最后，将十连接器带状线连接到 PCB 板的 LCD 屏幕连接器。
组装检测系统后，在运行实验之前立即加载并放置两个机架。首先，确保机架上的所有孔都包含 0.5 毫升的微离心管，并拆下盖，并确保管紧贴。用一个昆虫育雏细胞填充每个管，确保平边侧朝向开口。
然后添加一个空气软颗粒，最后，一个金属BB。然后使用四分之一英寸尼龙螺钉将管架面板粘贴，将圆边朝向机架底部。将管架放在机架平台上。从朝上处的开口开始，然后轻轻地旋转到位，以确保金属 BB 不会释放。
机架应放置在平台的边缘，以便金属 BB 可以自由落入收集器，而不会弹跳到结构的另一部分。将 SD 卡插入适配器，然后通过将微型 USB 连接器插入 Arduino，将另一端插入任何适当的 USB 适配器来启动中央处理器。准备就绪后，LCD 屏幕将显示数字 1 到 6。
将单个金属 BB 放入每个通道的球收集器中，并观察屏幕上显示的相应计数，并查看屏幕底部显示的正确时间。在所有的昆虫出现后，通过拔下阿杜伊诺的插头来关闭设备电源。机架可以拆卸和清洁以进行再使用。
在出现实验期间，数据存储在 SD 卡上，并位于逗号分隔文件中。使用 SD 卡将数据传输到计算机，使用 RStudio 自动生成数据的气泡图。为了数据的完整性，事件和温度数据都保存在同一个文件中。
在分析之前，将逗号分隔文件导入电子表格程序。第一列和J列是蜜蜂出现的日期和时间。通过将 A 到 E 列切割并粘贴到第二个电子表格中，将它们作为列 A 和 B 组成，并保存为单独的温度数据文件以作进一步分析。
