Nomenclature of Aryl and Heterocyclic Amines

Phenylamin – das einfachste Arillamin, und seine Derivate sind unter ihren gebräuchlichen Namen bekannt, mit den Präfixen o-, m- und p-, die verwendet werden, um den Substitutionspunkt anzugeben.
Die systematische Nomenklatur bezeichnet sie als Derivate des Anilins. Der Ring wird von dem Kohlenstoffatom mit der -NH2-Gruppe aus nummeriert und setzt sich in der Richtung fort, um dem Substituenten den niedrigsten Lokant zu geben.
Bei stärker substituierten Arylaminen wird dem ersten Differenzpunkt der niedrigste Lokant zugeordnet, und die Substituenten sind alphabetisch aufgelistet.
Sekundäre und tertiäre Arylamine werden als N-substituierte Anilin bezeichnet.
Gesättigte und ungesättigte heterocyclische Amine haben spezifische Namen, die auf der Ringgröße und den vorhandenen Heteroatomen basieren.
Die Nummerierung beginnt bei dem N-Atom oder dem Heteroatom mit dem höchsten Atomgewicht und setzt sich in der Richtung fort, dem anderen Heteroatom die niedrigste Lokation zu geben.
Alternativ geben die Präfixe aza- oder diaza- zusammen mit den Lokanten die Anzahl der N-Atome im Ring an.

Das einfachste aromatische Amin ist das Phenylamin, das eine -NH_2-Funktionalität enthält, die direkt an einen aromatischen Ring gebunden ist. Für dieses Gerüst wurde der Name Anilin gewählt. Wie in Abbildung 1 dargestellt, enthalten die gebräuchlichen Namen der funktionalisierten Aniline die Präfixe ortho-, meta- und para- zur Angabe der Substitutionsposition. Verschiedene funktionalisierte Anilinderivate haben auch bemerkenswerte Trivialnamen.

Bei der systematischen Nomenklatur wird der Ring vom stickstoffhaltigen Kohlenstoff in der Richtung nummeriert, die dem Substituenten die niedrigste Lokante verleiht. Bei Aminen mit mehr als einem Substituenten am Ring wird die Reihenfolge der Nummerierung so gewählt, dass die niedrigste Nummer für den ersten Differenzpunkt erhalten wird. Wie in Abbildung 2 dargestellt, sind die Substituenten alphabetisch geordnet. Alternativ werden sie auch als Derivate von Benzolamin bezeichnet.

Sekundäre und tertiäre aromatische Amine werden nach den primären Ausgangsaminen benannt, wobei N-Substitutionen dem Ausgangsnamen des Amins vorangestellt werden, wie in Abbildung 3 dargestellt.

Gesättigte und ungesättigte heterocyclische Amine, bei denen N ein Teil des Heterocyclus ist, haben spezifische Namen, die auf der Ringgröße und den Heteroatomen basieren. Abbildung 4 zeigt einige biologische Amine, die unter ihren gebräuchlichen Namen Pyrrolidin, Pyrrol, Piperidin, Pyridin und Imidazol bekannt sind.

Bei der Nomenklatur der heterocyclischen Amine beginnt die Nummerierung bei dem Heteroatom mit dem höheren Atomgewicht für Amine, die neben N noch andere Heteroatome enthalten. Wie in Abbildung 5 dargestellt, wird beispielsweise der Schwefel in Thiazol mit 1 nummeriert und in der Richtung fortgesetzt, die dem anderen Heteroatom, dem Stickstoff, die niedrigste Nummerierung verleiht. Ähnliches gilt für die Anwesenheit von Sauerstoff in Morpholin.

Alternativ werden die Präfixe aza- oder diaza- zusammen mit der Lokantenzahl, die die Anzahl der durch das Stickstoffatom ersetzten Kohlensubstanzen angibt, vor dem Stammalkan verwendet. Dies ist in der Nomenklatur eines bicyclischen Systems üblicher, wenn das N-Atom Teil eines kondensierten Ringsystems ist, wie in DBU und DBN, wie in Abbildung 6 dargestellt.

Naming aniline and ring amine derivatives follows clear rules for aromatic and heterocyclic amines. The simplest aromatic amine is phenylamine, which has an –NH2 group directly attached to an aromatic ring. The common name for this skeleton is aniline.

Functionalized anilines often use the prefixes ortho-, meta-, and para- to show where a substituent is placed on the ring. Many of these compounds also have trivial, or common, names. For systematic naming, the ring is numbered from the carbon attached to nitrogen. Numbering then continues in the direction that gives the lowest locant to the next substituent, and substituents are listed in alphabetical order. These compounds may also be named as benzenamine derivatives.

Secondary and tertiary aromatic amines are named from the parent primary amine. In these names, N-substituents are written before the parent amine name. This shows which groups are attached to the nitrogen atom itself.

Heterocyclic amines also have specific names. These compounds contain nitrogen as part of the ring, and they may be saturated or unsaturated. Common biological examples include pyrrolidine, pyrrole, piperidine, pyridine, and imidazole.

When a heterocycle contains more than one heteroatom, numbering starts at the heteroatom with the higher atomic weight. The numbering then continues in the direction that gives the other heteroatom the lowest possible number. For example, sulfur is numbered first in thiazole, and oxygen is numbered first in morpholine.

Another naming style uses the prefixes aza- or diaza-. These prefixes show how many carbons in the parent alkane are replaced by nitrogen atoms, and the locant number gives the nitrogen position. This approach is often used for bicyclic fused ring systems, such as DBU and DBN.
