What is Homeostasis?

Homöostase ist die Fähigkeit des Körpers, als Reaktion auf die sich verändernde äußere Umgebung stabile innere Bedingungen aufrechtzuerhalten.
Wenn es zum Beispiel draußen warm ist, kann die Körpertemperatur einer Person zu steigen beginnen, und der Körper muss reagieren, um dem Anstieg entgegenzuwirken.
Rezeptoren, Kontrollzentren und Effektoren koordinieren die notwendigen physiologischen Veränderungen, um auf eine Variable zu reagieren.
Bei einem Anstieg der Körpertemperatur erkennen Thermorezeptoren auf Hautzellen die erhöhte Temperatur und leiten die Nachricht über Nervenimpulse an das Gehirn, die Schaltzentrale, weiter.
Das Gehirn vergleicht den Reiz mit einem Sollwert – dem physiologischen Bereich der Variablen. Der Sollwert für eine normale menschliche Körpertemperatur liegt bei ca. 37 °C.
Wenn die Körpertemperatur den Sollwert überschreitet, signalisiert das Gehirn den Effektoren, den Schweißdrüsen, Schweiß zu produzieren. Die Verdunstung des Schweißes kühlt den Körper ab.
Sobald die Körpertemperatur wieder auf den Sollwert zurückkehrt, senden die Rezeptoren eine Rückmeldung an das Gehirn, um die Schweißproduktion zu reduzieren und sicherzustellen, dass die Homöostase aufrechterhalten wird.

was ist die homöostase?

Die Aufrechterhaltung der Homöostase erfordert, dass der Körper seine internen Bedingungen kontinuierlich aufrechterhält. Jeder physiologische Zustand hat einen bestimmten Sollwert, von der Körpertemperatur über den Blutdruck bis hin zu bestimmten Nährstoffwerten. Ein Sollwert ist der physiologische Wert, um den der normale Bereich schwankt. Ein normaler Bereich ist eine begrenzte Reihe von Werten, die optimal gesund und stabil sind. Zum Beispiel liegt der Sollwert für die normale Körpertemperatur eines Menschen bei etwa 37°C (98,6°F). Physiologische Parameter wie Körpertemperatur und Blutdruck neigen dazu, innerhalb eines normalen Bereichs ein paar Grad über und unter diesem Punkt zu schwanken. Kontrollzentren im Gehirn und anderen Teilen des Körpers überwachen und reagieren auf Abweichungen von der Homöostase mit Hilfe einer negativen Rückkopplung. Eine negative Rückkopplung ist ein Mechanismus, der eine Abweichung vom Sollwert umkehrt. Daher hält eine negative Rückkopplung die Körperparameter innerhalb ihres normalen Bereichs aufrecht. Die Aufrechterhaltung der Homöostase durch eine negative Rückkopplung erfolgt im gesamten Körper zu jeder Zeit. Das Verständnis der negativen Rückkopplung ist somit fundamental für das Verständnis der menschlichen Physiologie. 

 Ein Sensor, auch als Rezeptor bezeichnet, ist ein Bestandteil eines Rückkopplungssystems, der einen physiologischen Wert überwacht. Dieser Wert wird an das Steuerungszentrum gemeldet. Das Steuerungszentrum ist der Bestandteil eines Rückkopplungssystems, der den Wert mit dem normalen Bereich vergleicht. Wenn der Wert zu stark vom Sollwert abweicht, aktiviert das Steuerungszentrum einen Effektor. Ein Effektor ist ein Bestandteil eines Rückkopplungssystems, der eine Veränderung verursacht, um die Situation umzukehren und den Wert in den normalen Bereich zurückzuführen. 

 Zum Beispiel muss ein Reiz das System in Gang setzen, indem dieser einen physiologischen Parameter über seinen normalen Bereich treibt (über die Homöostase hinaus). Dieser Reiz wird von einem bestimmten Sensor „erkannt“. Bei der Kontrolle des Blutzuckers erkennen spezifische endokrine Zellen in der Bauchspeicheldrüse überschüssigen Glukose (den Reiz) im Blutstrom. Diese Betazellen der Bauchspeicheldrüse reagieren auf den erhöhten Blutglukosespiegel, indem sie das Hormon Insulin in den Blutkreislauf abgeben. Das Insulin signalisiert Skelettmuskelfasern, Fettzellen (Adipozyten) und Leberzellen, überschüssiges Glukose aufzunehmen und aus dem Blutkreislauf zu entfernen. Wenn die Glukosekonzentration im Blutstrom sinkt, wird die Abnahme der Konzentration - die tatsächliche negative Rückkopplung - von den Alpha-Zellen der Bauchspeicheldrüse erkannt und die Freisetzung von Insulin stoppt. Dies verhindert, dass der Blutzuckerspiegel weiterhin unterhalb des normalen Bereichs abfällt.

Homeostasis keeps the body’s internal conditions stable. The body does this by holding each physiological condition near a set point. A set point is the value around which the normal range changes, and the normal range is the small group of values that is healthiest and most stable. Human body temperature is a common example. Its set point is about 37°C, or 98.6°F, and it can shift a little above or below that point while still staying in range.

Negative feedback helps maintain homeostasis. This process reverses a change that moves a body value away from its set point. Control centers in the brain and other body parts monitor these changes and respond when conditions drift too far. Because this happens throughout the body all the time, negative feedback is a key idea in human physiology.

A feedback system has three main parts: a sensor, a control center, and an effector. A sensor, also called a receptor, watches a physiological value and sends that information to the control center. The control center compares the value with the normal range. If the value moves too far from the set point, the control center activates an effector. The effector causes a change that brings the value back toward normal.

Blood glucose control shows how this works. When blood sugar rises too high, pancreatic beta cells detect the excess glucose in the bloodstream. These endocrine cells release insulin into the blood. Insulin tells skeletal muscle fibers, fat cells, and liver cells to take up the extra glucose, which removes it from the bloodstream. As glucose levels fall, pancreatic alpha cells detect the drop, and insulin release stops. This keeps blood sugar from falling below the normal range.
