Der Verdichtungsfaktortest bestimmt die Verarbeitbarkeit von Beton mit Zuschlagstoffgrößen bis zu einem Maximum von eineinhalb Zoll.
Die Prüfeinrichtung besteht aus zwei kegelstumpfförmigen Trichtern mit Flügeltüren an der Unterseite und einem Zylinder, die alle nacheinander gestapelt sind, mit polierten Innenflächen, um die Reibung zu reduzieren.
Der Beton wird ohne Verdichtung in den oberen Trichter gelegt, und die untere Tür wird geöffnet, so dass der Beton in den unteren Trichter fließen kann.
Als nächstes wird die untere Tür des unteren Trichters geöffnet, so dass der Beton in den darunter liegenden Zylinder fallen kann, und der überschüssige Beton wird abgeschlagen.
Mit einer Stahlstange wird der Beton, der während des Tests in einem oder beiden Trichtern stecken bleibt, vorsichtig gestochen und gelöst.
Es wird das endgültige Gewicht des Betons im eingestellten Volumen des Zylinders bestimmt und die Dichte für dieses teilweise verdichtete Beton berechnet.
Die vollständig verdichtete Dichte wird ermittelt, indem der Zylinder in vier Schichten mit Beton gefüllt und jede Schicht gestampft wird.
Schließlich wird der Verdichtungsfaktor als das Verhältnis der Dichte von teilweise verdichtetem Beton zur Dichte von vollständig verdichtetem Beton berechnet, was die Verarbeitbarkeit der Mischung angibt.

Der Verdichtungsfaktortest ist eine Methode zur Beurteilung der Verarbeitbarkeit von Beton. Er eignet sich besonders für Betonmischungen mit Zuschlagstoffen bis zu einer Größe von 3,81 Zentimetern. Für diesen Test wird ein spezielles Gerät benötigt, das aus zwei kegelstumpfförmigen Trichtern und einem Zylinder besteht, alle mit polierten Innenflächen, um die Reibung zu minimieren.


 Der Vorgang beginnt damit, dass Beton ohne Verdichtung in den oberen Trichter gegeben wird. Sobald er gefüllt ist, wird die untere Klappe dieses Trichters geöffnet, damit der Beton in den unteren Trichter fließen kann. Nachdem der untere Trichter gefüllt ist, wird seine untere Klappe geöffnet, damit der Beton in den darunter liegenden Zylinder fallen kann. Überschüssiger Beton wird dann abgeklopft, um die Oberfläche zu ebnen.


 Während des Tests kann mit einer Stahlstange vorsichtig Beton angestoßen und gelöst werden, der in den Trichtern stecken geblieben ist. Das Gewicht des Betons im Zylinder wird aufgezeichnet und seine Dichte im teilweise verdichteten Zustand berechnet. Zum Vergleich wird die Dichte des vollständig verdichteten Betons ermittelt, indem derselbe Zylinder in vier Schichten mit Beton gefüllt und jede Schicht gründlich gestampft wird, um eine maximale Verdichtung zu gewährleisten.


 Der Verdichtungsfaktor wird als Verhältnis der Dichte des teilweise verdichteten Betons zur Dichte des vollständig verdichteten Betons berechnet. Dieses Verhältnis liefert einen numerischen Wert, der die Verarbeitbarkeit des Betons angibt, wobei unterschiedliche Verdichtungsfaktorwerte unterschiedliche Grade der Verarbeitbarkeit widerspiegeln. Dieser Test ist entscheidend, um zu verstehen, wie sich der Beton verhält, wenn er bei Bauprojekten in Formen oder Schalungen eingebracht wird.

The compacting factor test measures the workability of concrete. Workability describes how easily concrete can move and fill a mold or form during construction. This test is especially suitable for concrete mixes with aggregates up to one and a half inches in size.

The setup uses specialized equipment with two truncated cone-shaped hoppers and a cylinder. All of the inside surfaces are polished to reduce friction. Concrete is first placed into the upper hopper without any compaction. Then the bottom door is opened so the mix can flow into the lower hopper.

After the lower hopper fills, its bottom door is opened. The concrete falls into the cylinder below. Extra concrete is struck off to make the surface level. If concrete gets stuck in the hoppers, a steel rod may be used to gently poke it loose.

Next, the weight of the concrete in the cylinder is recorded. This gives the density of the partially compacted concrete. For comparison, the same cylinder is filled with concrete in four layers and each layer is tamped thoroughly to reach maximum compaction. The compacting factor is then calculated as the ratio of the partially compacted density to the fully compacted density. This number shows the workability of the concrete and helps predict how the mix will behave in forms.
