Summary
Biochimico statunitense Roger Tsien condiviso il Premio Nobel 2008 per la Chimica con Martin Chalfie e Osamu Shimomura per la loro scoperta e lo sviluppo della proteina fluorescente verde (GFP). Tsien notevolmente migliorato la wild-type GFP con conseguente aumento della fluorescenza, fotostabilità maggiore, e un cambiamento nel picco di eccitazione maggiore a 488 nm (corrispondente FITC).
