Curvealign

CurveAlign is an image-analysis tool that quantifies the orientation and alignment of collagen fibers and other curvilinear structures in microscopy images, supporting objective assessment of tissue architecture. It processes images with curvelet-based analysis to identify fiber segments, estimate their local orientations, and calculate alignment metrics that describe how consistently structures run in the same direction. In bioengineering, CurveAlign helps characterize extracellular matrix organization, compare engineered and native tissues, and evaluate structural changes in disease or tissue remodeling. These measurements provide reproducible, quantitative data for studying cell–matrix interactions, biomaterial performance, and tissue mechanics.
