Standard Perfusion Chamber

A standard perfusion chamber is a laboratory device that maintains biological tissues, cells, or isolated organs in a controlled fluid environment during observation or experimentation. Perfusion continuously delivers a defined solution through the chamber while removing waste, allowing researchers to regulate factors such as nutrient supply, oxygenation, temperature, and chemical exposure. In biology, this setup supports live-cell imaging, tissue physiology studies, pharmacological testing, and electrophysiological measurements by sustaining specimens over time and enabling rapid changes in the surrounding medium. Its controlled flow conditions improve experimental reproducibility and help model dynamic processes that are difficult to examine in static cultures.

Antegrade Perfusion Model: An Ex Vivo Technique to Perfuse Isolated Mouse Heart

2025

This video describes an antegrade perfusion technique of an isolated mouse heart during which a perfusate is injected through the left ventricle, and eventually, it perfuses the entire myocardium. This method can be used to isolate cardiomyocytes from murine models and generate decellularized hearts for further downstream applications.

Langendorff Retrograde Heart Perfusion: An Ex Vivo Technique to Perfuse Isolated Mouse Heart

2025

In this video, we perform Langendorff retrograde perfusion of an isolated mouse heart. During the procedure, the cardiac activity of the heart is maintained by perfusing it retrogradely with a perfusion solution via the coronary arteries using a cannula inserted into the ascending aorta. The model is used to study the cardiac pathophysiology of the heart.
