Dynamic Processes Analysis

Dynamic Processes Analysis is the study of how chemical systems change over time, providing insight beyond the composition of a reaction at equilibrium. In chemistry, it follows time-dependent changes in concentrations, energy, structure, or other measurable properties and relates them to reaction rates, transient intermediates, equilibrium shifts, and molecular mechanisms. By combining kinetic measurements with models of reaction pathways, researchers can determine rate laws, identify controlling steps, evaluate catalysts, and predict how conditions such as temperature or concentration affect outcomes. These analyses support reaction optimization, mechanistic studies, materials development, and the design of more efficient chemical processes.

This manuscript describes a protocol that applies comprehensive profiling for analysis of transcriptional programs induced in specific brain nuclei of rodents following behavioral paradigms. Herein, this approach is illustrated in the context of profiling genes induced in the nucleus accumbens (NAc) of mice following acute cocaine exposure, utilizing microfluidic qPCR arrays.
