Force Exertion Process

Force exertion is the process by which an object, machine, or system applies a push or pull to produce motion, maintain equilibrium, or transmit a load. In engineering, actuators, structural members, and mechanical interfaces exert force through interactions governed by Newton’s laws, while the resulting stress, strain, displacement, and torque depend on the force’s magnitude, direction, and point of application. Engineers analyze this process to design safe structures, robotic systems, vehicles, and manufacturing equipment, using measurements and models to predict performance, prevent failure, and improve efficiency.
