Spray Coating Method

The spray coating method is a surface-engineering technique that applies a protective, functional, or decorative layer by dispersing coating material onto a target surface. A liquid, suspension, or powder is atomized into fine droplets or particles and propelled through a nozzle, where factors such as spray pressure, particle size, substrate condition, and drying or curing determine coating uniformity and adhesion. Engineers use spray coating to control surface properties including corrosion resistance, wear resistance, insulation, appearance, and biocompatibility across metals, polymers, ceramics, and composite components. The method supports scalable manufacturing because it can cover complex geometries and accommodate diverse coating materials.

2016

We present protocols to be used in the measurement of spray droplet size from agricultural nozzles used in both aerial and ground based agrochemical applications. These methods presented were developed to provide consistent and repeatable droplet size data both inter- and intra-laboratory, when using laser diffraction systems.

A Spray Inoculation Technique to Establish Fungal Infection in Rice Plant Leaves

The topical anesthetic lidocaine was atomized using a high oxygen flow through the working channel of a flexible intubating endoscope to achieve topical airway anesthesia for awake endotracheal intubation. We prefer this modified spray-as-you-go technique for endoscopic intubation to classical bolus application because of higher patient satisfaction and better compliance.
