Co2 Demonstration

A CO2 demonstration is a practical activity that makes the properties, production, or environmental role of carbon dioxide visible and measurable. In common demonstrations, carbon dioxide produced by respiration, combustion, or a chemical reaction can be collected and tested because it dissolves in water to form carbonic acid, lowering pH and changing an indicator’s color. These observations connect an otherwise invisible gas to the carbon cycle, atmospheric composition, and greenhouse warming. In environmental sciences, CO2 demonstrations help students interpret gas exchange, human impacts on climate, and the importance of monitoring carbon sources and sinks.

Source: Kerry M. Dooley and Michael G. Benton, Department of Chemical Engineering, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA Polymer melts are often formed into simple shapes or "extrudates", such as cylindrical pellets, flat sheets, or pipe, using an extruder.1 Polyolefins are among the most common extrudable polymers. Extrusion involves transporting and melting solid feed, which is sometimes mixed with non-polymeric materials, and the pressure build-up and transport of the melt or mixture.
