Diameter Breast Height

Diameter Breast Height (DBH) is a standardized measurement of a tree’s stem diameter, typically taken 1.3 meters above ground, that supports consistent assessment of tree size and forest structure. Field researchers measure the trunk circumference with a diameter tape or calculate diameter from circumference, while adjusting the measurement location when buttresses, swelling, or unusual stem form affect the standard point. DBH helps quantify tree growth, estimate biomass and carbon storage, characterize stand composition, and monitor forest health. Combined with tree height, species identity, and plot data, it strengthens ecological surveys, forest inventories, habitat assessments, and environmental change studies.

Activation of latent mutations with adenovirus-Cre into the mammary ductal system results in a clinically relevant metastatic breast cancer. Incorporation of a YFP promoter allows tracking of distal metastatic tumor cells. This model is useful to study latent metastasis, anti-tumor immunity, and for designing novel immunotherapies to treat breast cancer.

We have developed a collagen-based in vitro assay which promotes proliferation and invasion from samples of all breast cancer subtypes. Optical Projection Tomography, a three dimensional microscopy technique was utilised to visualise and quantify tumour expansion. This assay may be used to quantify drug response of individual tumour samples.

2023

Source: Shreyas Narsipur, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC A propeller is a twisted airfoil, where the angle of the chord changes with respect to the location, along the radial station, as shown in Figure 1. Propellers are widely used in aircraft and watercraft propulsion systems thereby necessitating detailed characterizations of propellers to design high performance vehicles. Figure 1. Chord, thickness, and pitch at a radial station. One of...

Single-Port Robotic-assisted Transaxillary Breast-conserving Surgery: A Prospective, Single-arm, Non-randomized Phase IIa Clinical Trial

2025

This prospective study evaluated the implementation of a novel, single-port, robotic platform in oncoplastic breast-conserving surgery for malignant lesions. The primary endpoint focused on technical success, defined as the achievement of tumor-free resection margins confirmed by intraoperative frozen-section histopathology, with secondary assessment of aesthetic outcomes and life quality score of patients.
