Surgical Stabilization Technique

Surgical stabilization technique refers to operative methods that restore and maintain the structural integrity of injured or weakened tissues, helping limit movement and support healing. Depending on the clinical problem, surgeons align damaged structures and secure them with fixation devices, sutures, grafts, or other implants while preserving viable tissue and controlling contamination. In immunology and infection research, these techniques are relevant to injuries complicated by inflammation, microbial invasion, or impaired repair, where stable tissue conditions can support immune clearance and recovery. Studying surgical stabilization also helps evaluate infection risk, wound healing, implant responses, and strategies for reducing postoperative complications.

Surgical Technique for the Implantation of a Biomimetic Artificial Intervertebral Disc in a Goat Animal Model

2025

This study presents a novel surgical technique for implanting a biomimetic artificial intervertebral disc (BioAID). The method ensures precise placement and stability, aiming to restore cervical spine function using a goat model. This technique shows promise for clinical application in both human and canine patients suffering from cervical spine myelopathy.

A Technique for Stabilizing Membrane Proteins in Nanodiscs

2026

This study outlines the procedure for reconstituting the membrane protein TWIK-related acid-sensitive K+ channel 2 (Task2) into nanodiscs. The successful assembly was confirmed by single-particle cryo-electron microscopy, which yielded well-defined two-dimensional class averages.

Less-Invasive Technique for Non-stabilized Mandibular Fracture in Mouse Models

Medial canthopexy allows correction of the position and fixation of the medial canthal tendon. Due to the technical difficulties of this procedure, there is a need for a detailed protocol for educational purposes. Here, we describe a standardized reproducible technique for bilateral medial transnasal canthopexy by an orbitonasal approach.
