Bubble Wrap Bag

A bubble wrap bag is a flexible protective packaging enclosure lined with sealed air pockets that cushion objects during handling and transport. When compressed or struck, these pockets deform and distribute impact forces across the bag, helping limit vibration, abrasion, and localized pressure on the packaged item. In medicine, bubble wrap bags can protect vials, syringes, diagnostic devices, specimen containers, and other fragile supplies during shipping or storage. Their use may reduce breakage and preserve external package integrity, but they do not provide sterility, temperature control, or complete protection from contamination unless combined with validated packaging systems and appropriate handling procedures.

Excess Pressure Inside a Drop and a Bubble

2023

The shape of a small drop of liquid can be considered spherical, neglecting the effect of gravity. This drop can further be considered as two equal hemispherical drops put together due to surface tension. The forces acting on the spherical drop are due to the pressure of the liquid inside the drop, the pressure due to air outside the drop, and the force due to the surface tension acting on the two hemispherical drops. where γ corresponds to the surface tension. Recalling that the force per...

We present a simple and efficient protocol for the generation of human macrophages. Buffy coats are processed by double density gradient centrifugation and isolated monocytes are then differentiated to macrophages in Teflon-coated cell culture bags. This maximizes macrophage yields and facilitates cell harvesting for subsequent experiments.

2014

The cold pressor test is a classic stress induction task used in a wide range of research examining the relationship between stress and cognition, emotion, and behavior. In this article, a practical and versatile alternative to the traditional cold pressor test is presented: the cold pressor arm wrap.

Induction of Microstreaming by Nonspherical Bubble Oscillations in an Acoustic Levitation System

A fast and reliable technique is proposed to control the shape oscillations of a single, trapped acoustic bubble that is based on coalescence technique between two bubbles. The steady-state, symmetry-controlled bubble shape oscillations allow analysis of the fluid flow generated in the vicinity of the bubble interface.

Here, we present a protocol for the formation of lipid bilayers using a contact bubble bilayer method. A water bubble is blown into an organic solvent, whereby a monolayer is formed at the water-oil interface. Two pipettes are manipulated to dock the bubbles to form a bilayer.
