Cationized Bovine Serum Albumin

Cationized bovine serum albumin is a chemically modified form of bovine serum albumin in which positively charged groups are introduced, providing a versatile model for studying how protein charge influences biological interactions. Its increased cationic character promotes electrostatic binding to negatively charged cell membranes, extracellular matrix components, and other anionic biomolecules, which can alter cellular uptake, distribution, and clearance. In medicine and biomedical research, cationized bovine serum albumin supports investigations of protein transport, renal handling, tissue targeting, and drug-delivery strategies. It also helps researchers evaluate how surface charge affects the behavior, safety, and therapeutic potential of protein-based materials.

Begin with a bacterial suspension in nutrient media.Add the suspension to a multi-well plate and incubate. The nutrients in the media facilitate bacterial growth and attachment. The adhered bacteria secrete extracellular polymeric substances consisting of polysaccharides, proteins, and DNA to form a layer of biofilm.Wash multiple times with buffer to remove unbound bacteria.Invert the plate to ensure the removal of residual liquid from the well and allow the biofilm to dry.Treat with a fixative...
