Transplant Center

A transplant center is a specialized healthcare facility that evaluates patients, coordinates donor organs or tissues, and provides transplantation and long-term follow-up. Its work combines medical assessment, donor-recipient matching, surgical transplantation, and immunosuppressive therapy to reduce rejection while monitoring recovery and graft function. In medicine, transplant centers support treatment for advanced organ failure, including kidney, liver, heart, and lung disease, and bring together surgeons, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, laboratory specialists, and psychosocial professionals. Their coordinated care also contributes to transplant research, improved patient outcomes, and the development of safer approaches to organ allocation and post-transplant management.
