Intelligence Humor

Intelligence humor refers to humor that relies on intellectual themes, complex ideas, or the audience’s ability to recognize relationships between concepts, making it a useful topic in psychological research on cognition and social interaction. It often works through incongruity: people detect a mismatch, reinterpret the situation, and integrate the unexpected meaning into a coherent joke or comment. Studying intelligence humor can illuminate verbal reasoning, cognitive flexibility, knowledge, creativity, and individual differences in humor comprehension. It also helps researchers examine how education, cultural background, and social context influence what people find amusing and how humor shapes communication.

Humoral Immune Responses

2019

Overview The humoral immune response, also known as the antibody-mediated immune response, targets pathogens circulating in “humors,” or extracellular fluids, such as blood and lymph. Antibodies target invading pathogens for destruction via multiple defense mechanisms, including neutralization, opsonization, and activation of the complement system. Patients that are impaired in the production of antibodies suffer from severe and frequent infections by common pathogens and unusual pathogens. B...

2021

The aqueous humor is a high-yield liquid biopsy for retinoblastoma, intraocular cancer that cannot be biopsied in vivo due to the risk of extraocular spread. Herein, a method for safely extracting aqueous humor via clear corneal paracentesis and steps for genomic analysis to identify prognostic biomarkers are presented.

2010

We present a Turing-like Handshake test administered through a telerobotic system in which the interrogator is holding a robotic stylus and interacting with another party (human or artificial). We use a forced choice method, and extract a measure for the similarity of the artificial model to a human handshake.
