Traditionelle photothrombotische Schlaganfallmodelle (PTS) induzieren hauptsächlich dichte Thrombozytenaggregate mit einer hohen Resistenz gegen eine lytische Behandlung mit Gewebeplasminogenaktivator (tPA). Hier wird ein modifiziertes murines PTS-Modell durch Co-Injektion von Thrombin und lichtempfindlichem Farbstoff zur Photoaktivierung eingeführt. Das Thrombin-verstärkte PTS-Modell erzeugt gemischte Thrombozyten-Fibrin-Gerinnsel und ist hochempfindlich gegenüber tPA-Thrombolyse.
