Embryo Viability Assessment

Embryo viability assessment is the evaluation of an embryo’s capacity to continue normal development and implant successfully, based on biological and developmental indicators. Assessment may combine microscopic morphology, cell division patterns, developmental timing, and, when appropriate, genetic analysis to identify embryos with greater developmental potential. In cancer research, these approaches can help investigate how malignancy, oncogenic alterations, or cancer treatments affect early embryonic development and reproductive outcomes. Reliable viability measures also support the design and interpretation of embryo models, improving studies of developmental biology, treatment toxicity, and mechanisms linking cancer biology with fertility.
