Drug Therapy Optimization

Drug therapy optimization is the systematic process of selecting and adjusting medicines to achieve the greatest therapeutic benefit while minimizing adverse effects. It integrates pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic principles with patient-specific factors such as drug interactions, organ function, treatment response, and adherence to guide drug choice, dose, timing, and duration. In clinical practice, therapeutic drug monitoring, laboratory results, and ongoing assessment help clinicians refine treatment as a patient’s condition changes. This approach supports safer prescribing, improves outcomes, reduces preventable medication-related harm, and can help limit treatment failure and antimicrobial resistance.

This protocol describes the fabrication of elastic 3D macroporous microcryogels by integrating microfabrication with cryogelation technology. Upon loading with cells, 3D microtissues are generated, which can be readily injected in vivo to facilitate regenerative therapy or assembled into arrays for in vitro high-throughput drug screening.

Drug Administration and Therapy Phases: Overview

2024

Drugs, the chemical agents used in diagnosing, treating, or preventing diseases, undergo a four-phase process of development: pharmaceutic, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and therapeutic. The pharmaceutical phase focuses on leveraging the physicochemical properties of the drug to design and manufacture an effective product. Variants include orally administered tablets or capsules, topical creams or ointments, and parenteral-delivery solutions or emulsions. The pharmacokinetic phase...

Evaluation of the Efficacy And Toxicity of RNAs Targeting HIV-1 Production for Use in Gene or Drug Therapy
