Endoscopy

Endoscopy is a minimally invasive medical procedure that uses an endoscope to view the interior of the body, helping clinicians diagnose disease while reducing the need for open surgery. A flexible or rigid tube equipped with a light and camera, or an optical viewing system, passes through a natural body opening or a small incision to transmit images of internal tissues. In clinical practice, endoscopy supports examination of the gastrointestinal, respiratory, urinary, and reproductive systems, and may enable biopsy, removal of abnormal tissue, or other targeted treatments. Its direct visualization improves diagnostic accuracy and can shorten recovery compared with more invasive approaches.
