Electronic Design

Electronic design is the process of creating electronic circuits and systems that perform defined functions, making it fundamental to modern engineering and technology. Designers translate performance requirements into circuit architectures, select components, and evaluate behavior through schematics, simulation, prototyping, and testing; these steps help verify electrical performance, reliability, safety, and manufacturability. The field spans analog, digital, and embedded systems used in measurement instruments, communications equipment, industrial controls, and consumer devices. By integrating circuit theory, materials, software, and manufacturing constraints, electronic design turns functional specifications into practical hardware and supports innovation across engineering disciplines.

Group Design

2020

The most basic experimental design involves two groups: the experimental group and the control group. The two groups are designed to be the same except for one difference— experimental manipulation. The experimental group gets the experimental manipulation—that is, the treatment or variable being tested—and the control group does not. Since experimental manipulation is the only difference between the experimental and control groups, we can be sure that any differences between the two are due to...

This study describes a method that allows the rapid and clear diagnosis of plant virus diseases in about half a day by using a combination of microwave assisted plant sample preparation for transmission electron microscopy and negative staining methods.

Electron Carriers

2019

Electron carriers can be thought of as electron shuttles. These compounds can easily accept electrons (i.e., be reduced) or lose them (i.e., be oxidized). They play an essential role in energy production because cellular respiration is contingent on the flow of electrons. Over the many stages of cellular respiration, glucose breaks down into carbon dioxide and water. Electron carriers pick up electrons lost by glucose in these reactions, temporarily storing and releasing them into the electron...

From Theory to Design: The Role of Creativity in Designing Experiments

2023

Source: Laboratories of Gary Lewandowski, Dave Strohmetz, and Natalie Ciarocco—Monmouth University Research studies come into being when a researcher speculates about human thought, emotions, or behavior, and has a theory that offers a potential explanation. Often the researcher’s theory is firmly situated in everyday common experiences that may not naturally lend themselves to direct empirical study. For example, researchers speculated that perception of a person on Facebook is influenced by...
