Murine Kidney Isolation

Murine kidney isolation is a laboratory method for recovering kidney tissue from mice for structural, cellular, and molecular analysis, making it valuable in immunology and infection research. The procedure typically involves abdominal dissection, careful removal of surrounding tissue, and collection of the kidneys under conditions that preserve tissue integrity; samples may then undergo mechanical disruption or enzymatic digestion to produce tissue fragments or single-cell suspensions. Isolated kidneys support histology, flow cytometry, immunostaining, culture, and pathogen or immune-response analyses. These applications help characterize renal inflammation, leukocyte infiltration, tissue injury, and host responses during infection or experimental disease.
