Dose Distribution Analysis

Dose Distribution Analysis is the quantitative evaluation of how a medical dose is distributed across tissues, organs, or target regions, helping clinicians assess whether treatment reaches its intended target while limiting exposure to healthy structures. In medicine, the analysis represents dose values in relation to anatomical location or tissue volume, allowing spatial patterns, dose gradients, and dose-volume relationships to be examined using calculated or measured data. These assessments support treatment planning, quality assurance, and comparison of delivered with intended dose distributions, improving evaluation of therapeutic coverage and normal-tissue exposure in radiation-based care.

Presented here is a procedure for reproducible and statistically valid determinations of starch granule size distributions, and for specifying the determined granule lognormal size distributions using a two-parameter multiplicative form. It is applicable to all granule sizing analyses of gram-scale starch samples for plant and food science research.

The cytogenetic dicentric chromosome (DC) assay quantifies exposure to ionizing radiation. The Automated Dicentric Chromosome Identifier and Dose Estimator software accurately and rapidly estimates biological dose from DCs in metaphase cells. It distinguishes monocentric chromosomes and other objects from DCs, and estimates biological radiation dose from the frequency of DCs.

2025

Determining the optimal dose size and dosing frequency in pharmacotherapy is crucial for achieving therapeutic effectiveness while minimizing adverse effects. This article explores the methodologies employed in determining these parameters, focusing on their significance and interplay to tailor dosing regimens.Dose Size: Dose size refers to the amount of a drug administered in a single dose. It is determined based on the drug's pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics properties and...
