Single-stage Ercp

Single-stage ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) is a minimally invasive procedure that diagnoses and treats disorders of the bile and pancreatic ducts during one endoscopic session. A side-viewing duodenoscope reaches the major duodenal papilla, where clinicians cannulate the duct, inject contrast, and use fluoroscopy to identify abnormalities; therapeutic steps such as sphincterotomy, stone extraction, or stent placement can then follow immediately. In medicine, single-stage ERCP is used primarily for common bile duct stones, biliary obstruction, strictures, and selected duct leaks. Completing evaluation and treatment in one session can reduce repeat procedures, while requiring careful patient selection and monitoring for pancreatitis, bleeding, infection, or perforation.

Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is a diagnostic procedure that combines endoscopy and fluoroscopy to diagnose and treat conditions related to the bile ducts, pancreatic ducts, and gallbladder. This procedure is beneficial for identifying and addressing blockages, gallstones, strictures, and tumors within the biliary or pancreatic systems. ERCP is both diagnostic and therapeutic, offering the ability to visualize and treat identified problems in one session. Patient...

Learning new stimulus-response associations engages a wide range of neural processes which are ultimately reflected in changing spike output of individual neurons. Here we describe a behavioral protocol allowing for the continuous registration of single-neuron activity while animals acquire, extinguish, and reacquire a conditioned response within a single experimental session.

The use of the masseteric nerve as donor nerve represents a single-stage alternative to the criterion standard two-stage procedure of cross-facial nerve grafting and free muscle transfer in facial paralysis. We provide a detailed description to safely perform this technique with a gracilis muscle transfer and discuss indications and limitations.

Tissue-engineered implants for reconstructive surgery rarely progress beyond preclinical trials due to laborious ex vivo culturing, which includes complex and expensive scaffold components. Here, we present a single-staged procedure designed for urinary diversion with an accessible collagen-based tubular scaffold containing autologous micrografts.
