Pvdf-ctfe

PVDF-CTFE, or poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-chlorotrifluoroethylene), is an electroactive fluoropolymer whose electrical and mechanical properties make it important in materials physics. Its copolymer structure combines polar vinylidene fluoride units with chlorotrifluoroethylene units, promoting dipole alignment and enabling ferroelectric, dielectric, and piezoelectric responses when the material is processed and electrically poled. These properties allow PVDF-CTFE films and composites to convert mechanical deformation into electrical signals or electrical fields into motion. The material is therefore studied for flexible sensors, actuators, energy-harvesting devices, capacitors, and other lightweight technologies requiring mechanical flexibility and functional electrical performance.
