Carl Rogers

Carl Rogers was an American psychologist whose work helped establish humanistic psychology and reshaped how researchers and clinicians understand personality, motivation, and psychological growth. His person-centered approach proposes that people can move toward greater self-understanding and well-being when relationships provide empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard, rather than judgment or control. In psychotherapy, this framework places the client’s lived experience at the center and emphasizes a collaborative therapeutic relationship. Rogers’s ideas influenced counseling, education, communication, and organizational practice, while continuing to inform research on self-concept, personal development, therapeutic alliance, and conditions that support meaningful change.

Carl Rogers' Humanistic Perspective on Personality

2025

Carl Rogers, a key figure in humanistic psychology, believed that individuals possess an innate potential for growth and fulfillment. The organism refers to an individual's inherent blueprint, which Rogers saw as innately positive and directed toward helping others, unlike Freud's view of the id as driven by base impulses. The self is a person's...

2023

Optogenetic manipulation of signaling pathways can be a powerful strategy to investigate how signaling is decoded in development, regeneration, homeostasis, and disease. This protocol provides practical guidelines for using light-oxygen-voltage sensing domain-based Nodal and bone morphogenic protein (BMP) signaling activators in the early zebrafish embryo.

Here we provide a method for identifying and isolating large numbers of GM-CSF driven myeloid cells using high speed cell sorting. Five distinct populations (Common myeloid progenitors, granulocyte/macrophage progenitors, monocytes, monocyte-derived macrophages, and monocyte-derived DCs) can be identified based on Ly6C and CD115 expression.
