School Readiness

School readiness is the combination of skills, behaviors, and developmental capacities that help children participate successfully in formal learning, making it an important concept in educational and developmental psychology. It includes language and early cognitive abilities, attention and self-regulation, social-emotional skills, physical health, and the ability to adapt to classroom routines, shaped by interactions between the child, family, school, and community environment. Psychologists use school-readiness frameworks and assessments to identify strengths, recognize support needs, and guide early interventions. Understanding these factors can improve transitions into school, inform equitable educational planning, and support children’s later learning and well-being.

2024

Ready-mixed concrete, also known as pre-mixed concrete, is prepared in a centralized plant and then transported in trucks to construction sites where it is ready for placement. This type of concrete is categorized into central-mixed, truck-mixed (or transit-mixed), and shrink-mixed. Central-mixed concrete is entirely prepared at a plant and moved to the site in agitator trucks that rotate at a speed of 2 to 6 rpm. Truck-mixed concrete, on the other hand, has the ingredients batched at the plant...

Chronic infection with soil-transmitted helminths (STHs) causes malabsorption, stunting, and wasting in the growing child. Hence, it is plausible that these infections also reduce the physical fitness of children. Here, we visualize two techniques for the diagnosis of STHs and the 20-meter shuttle run test for assessing children's physical fitness.
