Energy-requiring Steps of Glycolysis

- [Formateur] La glycolyse se déclencheavec une seule molécule de glucose. 
Grâce à l'ATP, l'enzyme hexokinase transfèreun groupement phosphate vers le sucre de 6 atomes de carbonepour produire du glucose 6-phosphatequi se retrouve alors pris au piège dans la cellulede part sa charge négative. 
Ensuite, l'enzyme phosphoglucose isomérasecatalyse la conversion de la phosphoglucoseen un de ses isomères, le fructose 6-phosphate. 
Le phosphofructose peut alors être phosphorylépar une enzyme limitant le débit, la phosphofructokinase,pour produire du fructose-1,6-bisphosphate. 
Pour finir, entourée de deux groupes phosphate,la molécule de sucre est scindée par l'aldolaseen deux isomères à 3 carbone,le glycéraldéhyde 3-phosphate (ou G3P)et la phosphate de dihydroxyacétone (DHAP). 
Une autre enzyme catalyseur, la triosephosphate isoméraseconvertie le DHAP en G3P pour produire deux molécules. 
De ce fait, durant cette phase d'investissement énergétique,un total net de deux ATP sont utiliséespour scinder la molécule de glucose initialeen deux sucres plus petits.

Étapes de glycolyse nécessitant un apport d'énergie

<h4>Aperçu</h4>
 
 Le glucose est la source de presque toute l’énergie utilisée par les organismes. La première étape de la transformation du glucose en énergie utilisable s’appelle la glycolyse. La glycolyse se produit dans le cytosol de la cellule au cours de deux phases : une phase nécessitant de l’énergie et une phase libérant de l’énergie. Au cours des trois premières étapes, le glucose est transformé en formes différentes et se fixe à deux groupes phosphates donnés par deux molécules d’ATP, ce qui conduit à un sucre instable. Dans les deux étapes suivantes, le sucre instable se divise en deux isomères de sucre qui sont soit transformés, soit directement utilisés dans la phase suivante de la glycolyse.
 
 <h4>Le processus</h4>
 
 Tout d’abord, le glucose reçoit un groupe phosphate de l’ATP, ce qui le transforme en une forme plus réactive (glucose 6-phosphate). Parce que le glucose fixé au phosphate chargé négativement ne peut pas traverser la membrane cellulaire hydrophobe, l'addition d’un groupe phosphate emprisonne également le glucose à l’intérieur de la cellule.
 
 Ensuite, la forme plus réactive du glucose est transformée en l’un de ses isomères, le fructose 6-phosphate, qui est nécessaire pour les étapes ultérieures de la glycolyse nécessitant de l’énergie.
 
 Le fructose 6-phosphate reçoit alors un groupe phosphate d’une deuxième molécule d’ATP. Ceci transforme le fructose 6-phosphate en fructose 1,6-bisphosphate, un sucre instable.
 
 Ce sucre instable se divise en deux isomères distincts à trois carbones, le glycéraldéhyde 3-phosphate et le DHAP. Le glycéraldéhyde 3-phosphate peut être directement utilisé dans la phase suivante de la glycolyse, tandis que le DHAP est transformé en glycéraldéhyde 3-phosphate.

Glycolysis begins in the cytosol, where glucose is prepared for use as energy. This process has two phases: an energy-requiring phase and an energy-releasing phase. The first phase changes glucose into a more reactive, unstable form before it can move into later steps.

In the first step, glucose is phosphorylated, which means a phosphate group is added from ATP. This produces glucose 6-phosphate. The added phosphate is negatively charged, so it cannot cross the hydrophobic cell membrane. As a result, glucose is trapped inside the cell.

Next, glucose 6-phosphate is converted into its isomer, fructose 6-phosphate. An isomer is a molecule with the same atoms but a different arrangement. Fructose 6-phosphate is needed for the remaining energy-requiring steps of glycolysis. It is then phosphorylated by a second ATP molecule, forming fructose 1,6-bisphosphate.

Fructose 1,6-bisphosphate is unstable and splits into two three-carbon sugar isomers. These are glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate and DHAP. Glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate can go straight into the next phase of glycolysis. DHAP is converted into glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate before continuing.
