Nursing Care

Nursing care is the coordinated support nurses provide to promote health, prevent complications, relieve suffering, and help patients recover or adapt to illness. It works through a continuous process of assessment, clinical judgment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, with care adjusted to the patient’s condition, responses, preferences, and goals. In clinical settings, nursing care includes monitoring patients, administering treatments, managing symptoms, preventing infection, educating patients and families, and communicating changes to the healthcare team. This structured approach promotes safety, supports individualized decision-making, and contributes to improved outcomes across acute, chronic, and rehabilitative care.
