Mouse Primary Antibodies

Mouse primary antibodies are antigen-binding immunoglobulins produced in mice and used to detect, localize, or measure specific proteins, pathogens, or immune markers. Their variable regions recognize molecular epitopes through complementary noncovalent interactions, while their constant regions can be detected by labeled secondary antibodies or used to support functional assays. In immunology and infection research, these reagents enable immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays, and western blotting to characterize host responses, identify microbial components, and track changes in protein expression. Careful selection of antibody specificity, isotype, and experimental controls improves signal interpretation and reproducibility.

A Multiplex Immunostaining Method Using Primary Antibodies from the Same Host Species

2025

This video demonstrates an assay to perform multiplex immunostaining using primary antibodies from the same host species. In this method, an adrenal tissue section undergoes a two-step immunostaining process. Initially, the section is stained with antibodies specific for markers in the cortex, followed by stripping the bound antibody and restaining with antibodies specific for markers in the medulla.

Antibody-Dependent Enhancement of Zika Virus by Dengue Antibodies in Human Primary Macrophages

(2019)This video demonstrates antibody-dependent enhancement of Zika virus infection in human primary macrophages, using dengue antibody–virus complexes to model how cross-reactive antibodies facilitate Fcγ receptor–mediated viral entry and replication for studying infection mechanisms and immune interactions.

Dopaminergic neurons play a vital regulatory role in the brain. Their loss is associated with Parkinson's disease. In this video, we show how to generate primary cultures of central dopaminergic neurons from embryonic mouse mesencephalon. Such cultures are useful to study the extreme vulnerability of these neurons to various stresses.

An Ultrasound-Assisted Delivery of Antibodies in a Mouse Model

This video demonstrates a procedure of ultrasound-assisted antibody delivery in a mouse model. Retro-orbitally injected microbubbles oscillate under ultrasound, creating a transient disruption in the blood-brain barrier, permitting labeled antibodies to enter the brain.
