Red Fluorescent Cell Linker

Red Fluorescent Cell Linker is a fluorescent cell-labeling reagent that marks cell membranes for visualization and tracking in biological research. Its lipophilic fluorescent molecules insert into the plasma membrane, producing red fluorescence that allows labeled cells to be distinguished from surrounding cells by fluorescence microscopy or flow cytometry. In immunology and infection studies, this labeling approach supports analysis of immune-cell movement, cell–cell interactions, phagocytosis, and host–pathogen dynamics. Researchers can use the signal to follow labeled populations over time, identify cellular contacts, and assess how infection or immune activation changes cell behavior in cultured or experimental systems.

Measuring Mast Cell Exocytosis via Neuropeptide Y Monomeric Red Fluorescent Protein Release

2025

This video demonstrates mast cell exocytosis induced by an activating reagent that includes a calcium ionophore, initiating the release of secretory granules containing the fluorescent reporter protein NPY-mRFP. Subsequently, we quantitatively assess the exocytosis by measuring the released NPY-mRFP using a fluorescence plate reader.

Identification of Sleeping Beauty Transposon Insertions in Solid Tumors using Linker-mediated PCR

A method of identifying unknown drivers of carcinogenesis using an unbiased approach is described. The method uses the Sleeping Beauty transposon as a random mutagen directed to specific tissues. Genomic mapping of transposon insertions that drive tumor formation identifies novel oncogenes and tumor suppressor...

The exploration of cellular behavior under mechanical stress is pivotal for advances in cellular mechanics and mechanobiology. We introduce the Fluorescence Micropipette Aspiration (fMPA) technique, a novel method combining controlled mechanical stimulation with comprehensive analysis of intracellular signaling in single cells. This technique investigates new in-depth studies of live-cell mechanobiology.

Cytoskeletal Linker Proteins - Plakins

2023

Plakins are large proteins with binding domains for microtubules, microfilaments, intermediate filaments, and membrane-associated protein complexes at cell junctions. Plakin functions are evolutionarily conserved and are primarily involved in organizing the different components of the cytoskeleton by crosslinking them to each other and connecting them to the cell-matrix and cell adhesion complexes. They are also known to interact with signal transducers, serve as scaffolds for signaling...
