Bathing Dressing Assessment

Bathing Dressing Assessment is a clinical evaluation of a person’s ability to bathe and dress independently, safely, and appropriately for daily life. In medicine, the assessment uses patient interviews, direct observation, and functional task analysis to identify the level and type of assistance needed, including difficulties with mobility, balance, coordination, strength, cognition, or sequencing. Findings help clinicians measure activities of daily living, recognize functional decline, and distinguish limitations caused by physical or cognitive conditions. The results support individualized care planning, rehabilitation goals, adaptive equipment recommendations, discharge decisions, and monitoring of changes in independence over time.
