Dental Implant Instruments

Dental implant instruments are specialized surgical tools used to plan, prepare, place, and restore dental implants, supporting the replacement of missing teeth and surrounding oral structures. During treatment, drills and osteotomes prepare the jawbone with controlled diameter and depth, while implant drivers transfer the fixture into the prepared site; torque instruments help regulate insertion force and protect primary stability. Retractors, probes, irrigation systems, and prosthetic drivers support visibility, tissue management, cooling, and restorative procedures. Proper instrument selection and handling improve surgical precision, reduce tissue trauma, and promote predictable osseointegration, making these tools essential in implant dentistry and oral surgery.

Dynamic computer-aided implant surgery (DCAIS) is a controlled implant surgical placement method performed without a surgical template using optical control. The real-time intraoperative control of movement and position of the surgical device simplifies the procedure and gives more freedom to the surgeon, providing similar precision as static navigation methods.
