Resident Training

Resident training is the structured postgraduate education through which medical graduates develop the knowledge, clinical skills, and professional judgment required for independent practice. During supervised rotations, residents evaluate patients, formulate diagnoses, perform procedures, and create treatment plans while receiving feedback and progressively assuming greater responsibility as they demonstrate competency. This workplace-based learning connects medical science with real clinical decision-making across hospital and outpatient settings. Effective resident training strengthens patient safety, teamwork, communication, and evidence-based care while preparing physicians for specialty practice and lifelong learning. It also supports healthcare systems by developing a skilled workforce equipped to respond to changing patient and community needs.

Noncompartmental Analysis: Mean Residence Time

2025

According to statistical moment theory, mean residence time (MRT) is an important measure in pharmacokinetics. MRT can be defined as the expected mean of a probability density function distribution. It provides valuable insights into drug disposition in the body. After the administration of a drug through intravenous bolus injection, the drug molecules are distributed throughout the body and remain there for varying periods. The MRT represents the average time these drug molecules stay in the...

In Vitro Resident Memory CD8 T Cell Differentiation Using Epithelial Organoid-T Cell Co-culture System

2026

To study CD8 T cell differentiation and function in vitro, CD8 T cells can be isolated from the mouse to be co-cultured long-term with preformed infected murine vaginal epithelial organoids. Here, we describe this process and assess the acquisition of resident memory T cell markers upon co-culture.

All animal procedures described here must be conducted in accordance with institutional animal ethics guidelines and approved by IACUC. All procedures must follow the principles of the 3Rs—Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement—and must be performed by trained personnel. A Stepwise Approach to Training Proper training and competency in animal procedures are essential to ensure high standards of animal welfare and reliable scientific outcomes. A structured, progressive training approach is...
