Electrodeless Discharge Lamp

An electrodeless discharge lamp is a gas-discharge light source that produces radiation without electrodes inside the emitting vessel, reducing contamination and electrode degradation. A radio-frequency or microwave electromagnetic field transfers energy through the lamp wall to a low-pressure vapor, ionizing the gas and exciting atoms whose characteristic emissions are released as they return to lower energy states; phosphors may convert this radiation into visible light. In chemistry, electrodeless discharge lamps provide intense, element-specific sources for atomic absorption and related spectroscopic measurements. Their stable output and long operating life support sensitive elemental analysis, calibration, and research involving emission wavelengths.

RC Circuits: Discharging A Capacitor

2025

One of the applications of an RC circuit is the relaxation oscillator. The relaxation oscillator comprises a voltage source, a capacitor, a resistor, and a neon lamp. The lamp acts like an open circuit (infinite resistance) until the potential difference across the neon lamp reaches a specific voltage. At that voltage, the lamp acts like a short circuit (zero resistance), and the capacitor discharges through the neon lamp and produces light. Once the capacitor is fully discharged through the...

Loop-mediated Isothermal Amplification (LAMP) Assays for the Species-specific Detection of Eimeria that Infect Chickens

2015

Diagnosis of Eimeria infection in chickens remains demanding. Parasite morphology- and host pathology-led approaches are commonly inconclusive, while molecular approaches based on PCR have proven demanding in cost and expertise. The aim of this protocol is to establish loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) as a straightforward molecular diagnostic for eimerian infection.

Effects of Different Connection Modes of Electroacupuncture on Electrocardiogram and Nerve Discharge in Rats

2025

Until now, there is no uniform method for electroacupuncture connection in clinical and fundamental research. We present a protocol that attempted to compare the effects of different connection methods on electrocardiogram (ECG) and neural discharge in rats to explore the most appropriate way to connect the electroacupuncture instrument.
