Ultra Sensitive Scale

An ultra sensitive scale is a precision instrument designed to measure extremely small masses or mass differences, supporting accurate preparation and reproducibility in laboratory research. It detects the force produced by a sample and converts that signal into a calibrated mass reading, while controlled conditions help reduce effects from vibration, air movement, temperature, and static electricity. In genetics, this level of precision supports weighing reagents, nucleic-acid standards, and other materials used in DNA extraction, amplification, sequencing, and molecular analysis. Reliable mass measurements improve concentration calculations, limit experimental variation, and strengthen the comparability of genetic research results.

Hydronium and hydroxide ions are present both in pure water and in all aqueous solutions, and their concentrations are inversely proportional as determined by the ion product of water (Kw). The concentrations of these ions in a solution are often critical determinants of the solution’s properties and the chemical behaviors of its other solutes. Two different solutions can differ in their hydronium or hydroxide ion concentrations by a million, billion, or even trillion times. A common means of...
