Antigen Specific Detection

Antigen-specific detection refers to methods that identify a particular antigen, such as a microbial protein or immune target, within a biological sample. These assays rely on selective molecular recognition, typically using antibodies that bind the antigen’s epitope and generate a measurable signal through fluorescence, enzyme activity, or particle aggregation. In immunology and infection research, techniques such as enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays, immunofluorescence, and lateral flow tests help determine whether pathogens or pathogen-derived molecules are present. The resulting measurements support diagnosis, surveillance, vaccine evaluation, and analysis of immune responses, while differences in sensitivity and specificity guide the choice of method for clinical or laboratory applications.

A Raman Spectroscopy-Based Direct Immunoassay to Detect a Specific Antigen

2025

In this video, we describe the Raman spectroscopy-based direct immunoassay method for detecting specific target antigens. The antibodies, which are adsorbed onto the surface of gold nanoparticles attached to Raman probes, interact with target antigens and produce a specific Raman spectrum, which is subsequently detected.

A Technique for the Generation of Antigen-Specific CAR T Cells

2025

This video demonstrates a technique for generating antigen-specific chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells through retroviral transduction. Activated murine CD8+ T cells are added to a microwell plate coated with recombinant fibronectin fragments. Retroviral vectors containing transgenic RNA encoding an antigen-specific chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) are then introduced, and the plate is centrifuged to facilitate transduction. After incubation, the transduced cells express antigen-specific...
