Digital Photography Measurement

Digital photography measurement is the quantitative analysis of photographs to obtain reproducible information about size, color, brightness, shape, or spatial relationships. It works by capturing images with a digital sensor and using calibrated pixels, reference scales, standardized lighting, and image-analysis software to convert visual features into numerical measurements. In medicine, this approach supports documentation and assessment of wounds, skin changes, surgical outcomes, anatomical features, and microscopy specimens. Consistent acquisition and calibration improve comparability across patients, time points, and clinical studies, while reducing reliance on subjective visual estimates and enabling objective monitoring of disease progression or treatment response.
