Individualized Nursing

Individualized nursing is an approach that tailors assessment, clinical decision-making, and care planning to each patient’s health status, preferences, values, and goals. Nurses gather patient-specific information, identify needs and risks, and use clinical judgment to adapt interventions, education, communication, and monitoring as the patient’s condition changes. This approach supports coordination among patients, families, and healthcare professionals while accounting for cultural, emotional, and social factors that influence care. In medicine, individualized nursing can promote meaningful patient participation, strengthen continuity of care, and help align treatment with the patient’s circumstances and priorities.
