Spatial Registration

Spatial registration is the computational process of aligning images, anatomical structures, or other spatial datasets within a common coordinate system so that corresponding features match. It works by estimating a transformation between datasets, using landmarks, image intensities, or recognizable patterns to calculate rigid, affine, or deformable adjustments that correct differences in position, orientation, scale, or shape. In medicine, registration supports the integration of MRI, CT, ultrasound, and other imaging modalities, enables comparison of anatomy over time, and improves image-guided procedures. Accurate alignment can help clinicians and researchers localize pathology, plan interventions, assess treatment response, and relate imaging findings to biological structure and function.

Shelf Registration

2026

Shelf registration is an essential tool for companies to raise capital flexibly and efficiently. It is a provision by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that enables companies to file a single registration for securities they intend to issue over time rather than all at once. This process offers multiple advantages.Flexibility and Convenience: Shelf registration allows companies to issue securities in phases per market conditions and funding needs rather than raising all capital at...

Source: Laboratory of Jonathan Flombaum—Johns Hopkins University Attention refers to the limited human ability to select some information for processing at the expense of other stimuli in the environment. Attention operates in all sensory modalities: vision, hearing, touch, even taste and smell. It is most often studied in the visual domain though. A common way to study visual attention is with a spatial cueing paradigm. This paradigm allows researchers to measure the consequences of focusing...

Spatial Memory Testing Using Mazes

2023

Spatial learning and memory are neurological functions that allow us to remember important details associated with our environment. Scientists test this phenomenon in rodents using different types of mazes like Morris water maze, Radial water maze, and Barnes maze. By investigating spatial memory in rodents, neurobehavioral scientists can gain valuable understanding of how these processes are altered following brain damage in humans. Here, the neurobiology behind spatial memory is briefly...
