Precise neural circuit interrogation enables target de-risking in CNS drug discovery by linking molecular interventions to functional network dynamics. This method supports early validation of therapeutic hypotheses through direct measurement of electrophysiological phenotypes in behaving models. It enhances predictive confidence by providing quantifiable, spatially resolved neural readouts that bridge in vitro findings and in vivo efficacy.
The method integrates into the discovery continuum by providing electrophysiological phenotyping after target engagement but before behavioral efficacy assessment, supporting go/no-go decisions based on network-level effects.
