Experimental Infection of Mice with the Parasitic Nematode Strongyloides ratti

S. ratti נודד ממקום ההדבקה בעיקר לראש ובהמשך למעי במסלול שאינו מוגדר בדיוק. כדי לחקור את הלוקליזציה המדויקת ברקמת הראש ובמעי, עכברי C57BL/6 נדבקו ב-1000 iL3 לתוך כרית כף הרגל האחורית השמאלית. עכברים הוקרבו ביום הראשון עד היום ה-14 p.i., וטפילי S. ratti כומתו בראש, במוח ובריאה הקדמיים והאחוריים (איור 2), כמו גם בתריסריון, בג'ג'ונום, באילאום, בקאקום ובמעי הגס (איור 3).
