Madhura R.J. PH.D.

Madhura R. J. is a doctoral graduate with extensive expertise in developing animal models to explore the effects of malnutrition and heavy metal exposure on cancer susceptibility. She holds an M.Sc. in Biosciences from Mangalore University and earned her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Nitte (Deemed to be University). Throughout her doctoral research, Madhura has authored and published scientific articles in indexed journals, contributing significantly to the field. She is also the inventor of the Indian patent titled “Diet Composition to Produce Malnourished Animal Model (Patent #377420)” and a patent application for the “Process for Rapid Induction of Hepatocellular Carcinoma in Mouse Model”. In recognition of her scientific achievements, she was awarded the AWSAR Award 2022 by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, under the Ph.D. category. Madhura has made invaluable contributions to preclinical research methodologies at the Nitte University Centre for Animal Research and Experimentation. Her expertise spans various in-vivo rodent models for cancer, psoriasis, antivenom, arthritis, acute kidney injury, diabetes, NAFLD, BPH, toxicity, and more. Beyond her research career, Madhura is a passionate theatre artist, voice-over artist, and professional emcee. She has been actively involved in Kannada and Tulu plays, debuting as the female lead in Coastalwood. An avid sports enthusiast, she has participated in Kabaddi, Football, and Hockey teams since her school days and proudly served as a member of the National Cadet Corps. madhura.rj@jove.com
