Lysate Mixing

Lysate mixing is the controlled blending of a cell lysate, the complex material produced when cells are disrupted, to distribute its molecular components uniformly for biochemical analysis. Agitation or pipetting resuspends cellular debris and soluble proteins, while the intensity and duration of mixing must balance thorough homogenization with reduced foaming, shear, and unwanted protein degradation. In biochemistry, consistent lysate mixing improves the reproducibility of protein quantification, enzyme assays, immunoprecipitation, and sample preparation for electrophoresis or chromatography. Careful handling also helps preserve native protein complexes and biological activity, strengthening the reliability of downstream measurements.

2025

In this video, we demonstrate the electrochemiluminescence immunoassay for the quantitation of target protein levels in different samples. This assay is based on the luminescence produced in the electrochemical reaction. The intensity of light emitted is proportional to the quantity of the target protein in the sample.
