Combination Treatment

Combination treatment is the use of two or more therapeutic interventions together or in sequence to address a biological condition more effectively than a single treatment alone. The approaches may act through complementary mechanisms, target different cellular pathways, or produce additive or synergistic effects, while treatment design must account for interactions, dosing, and toxicity. In biology and biomedical research, combination treatment is used to study pathway relationships, improve responses to infection or disease, and reduce the likelihood that resistant cells or organisms persist. Careful experimental comparison helps determine whether a combination offers meaningful benefits over individual treatments.
