Audio-based Environment Simulator

An audio-based environment simulator is a system that recreates the auditory characteristics of a real or imagined setting to support controlled study, training, or assessment. It typically uses digital recordings, synthesized sounds, and spatial audio processing to reproduce sound sources, background noise, direction, distance, and changing acoustic conditions through headphones or loudspeakers. In medicine, these simulators can model clinical environments for education, evaluate how noise and auditory cues affect attention or decision-making, and support research on hearing, cognition, stress, and rehabilitation. By standardizing exposure while preserving realistic sound patterns, they enable repeatable experiments and safer preparation for complex healthcare situations.
